KATE WYVILL

Playwright / Actor / Producer / Director

 

Kate Wyvill is a playwright, actor, director and producer. She is the creator of Sanity Productions. Kate trained as an actor at the Q Theatre, Sydney and graduated in 1986. She has worked in theatre, film and radio in Sydney, Darwin and the UK. She has also worked in arts management with the Darwin Theatre Company as the Administrator and in venue management with the Darwin Entertainment Centre as the General Manager. Kate also teaches acting for adults and has developed workshops for English and Drama teachers in stage craft. As a playwright, her first play ‘Going Potty’ premiered at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2004 in which she also played the female lead. 

Kate produced and directed ‘The Wardrobe’, her re-worked version of ‘Going Potty’, at the Darwin Entertainment Centre in November 2010. She is currently developing her next script ‘Marbles’ about Alzheimer’s and the euthanasia debate for performance in 2012.
 

 

MERRILEE MILLS

Actor

Merrilee Mills is a freelance actor, director, teacher, musician and composer. She holds degrees in Music and Education from the NSW Conservatorium and has had post-graduate training across a range of theatre-related disciplines. Merrilee is a multi-instrumentalist and classically trained singer who has performed both nationally and internationally, and since her arrival in 1990, she has worked across the spectrum of the theatre-arts with all of the Northern Territory’s professional performing arts bodies.

 

Her acting credits include Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf (Martha), Female Parts (The Woman), The Threepenny Opera ( Polly), The Winter’s Tale (Hermione), The Tempest (Ariel), Money and Friends ( Vicki), and The Seven Deadly Australian Sins, for which she was also co-writer and composer. Recent directorial credits include her own stage adaptation of Mem Fox’s Wilfrid Gordon McDonald Partridge, Kate Rice’s Pirates of the Arafura Sea, Giancarlo Menotti’s Amahl and the Night Visitors and Stephen Carleton’s Patrick White award-winning play Constance Drinkwater and the Final Days of Somerset.

In 2007, Merrilee was recipient of an Australian Government National Excellence award for outstanding contribution and innovation in the field of Arts and Education.

 

 

YORIS WILSON

Actor

Yoris Wilson’s career as a freelance theatre practitioner has spanned almost twenty years, and encompasses a wide range of disciplines across both the visual and performing arts. He has been employed as a performer in a range of roles as an actor, dancer, singer and instrumentalist for arts organizations including Tracks Dance Co., Darwin Theatre Company, Jute Theatre Company, Knock ‘em Down Productions and NT School of Music.

 

 

 

 

CELESTE BROCKSOM

Stage Manager

Celeste is a Stage Manager, Visual Merchandiser, Properties and Set Designer. She has over 10 years experience in Art Direction and Project Management through various European Events. She has recently relocated to reside in Australia and continue her career. In 2008 she joined  Sydney State Theatre working in the Costume Department and as Stage Crew and Follow Spot for high profile shows. Her parents have established a Dance Centre in Perigian Springs, Queensland where Celeste divides her time with her stage commitments in Sydney and Darwin.

Credits include: Dungog Film Festival 2009 assisting Art Director, Al Green. Stage Crew working with ‘Visions in Style’ for musicians such as; Pink; George Michael; Lady Gaga and Beyoncé.  Costume Department: British National Ballet, New York Dance Company. Follow Spot: Bollywood, Bill Baily, Utte Lemper and The Imperial Russian Ballet.

 

 

SEAN PARDY

Lighting Designer

Sean is a theatre maker. He has been involved in many aspects of creating theatre and currently is the venue manager for Brown's Mart Theatre in Darwin. Recent lighting design credits include;
‘ Head Full of Love’ for the Darwin Festival ; ‘ A Midsummer Night's Dream’ for the Darwin Theatre Company and ‘Mademoiselle Fi Fi’ for White Rhino. From 2006 to 2008 Sean was the producer for Critical Stages, touring independent theatre across Australia. He was the technical director of The Darlinghurst Theatre Company, Sydney from 2004 - 2006.
